How to use: PDF Editor

  1. Open a PDF (drag it in or choose it) or try the example. If it has a password, type it to open it.
  2. Pick a tool: highlight, draw, type, add images, signatures or stamps, fill in the form or reorganise the pages in the thumbnails. Ctrl+Z undoes.
  3. Press “Export PDF”, download the result and open it again to check it.

What it accepts and what you get

Input
A PDF of up to 25 MB and 300 pages. It also opens password-protected PDFs if you know the password.
Output
A new PDF with your changes: marks become part of the pages and notes are real PDF comments. The original is not modified.
Where your data is processed
Your data is processed in your browser and is not sent to our servers.

Limitations and notes

  • “Edit text” is a visual replacement: it covers the old text and draws new text with a standard font. It does not change the PDF's text objects and the original text stays inside the file. It is not native editing.
  • The signature is an image, not a certified digital signature. If the PDF already has a digital signature, any change invalidates it (it is not verified).
  • Password protection is real AES-256; if you lose the password it cannot be recovered. Passwords are never guessed or bypassed.
  • XFA forms cannot be filled in; only standard AcroForm fields. OCR (page by page) works on the regular site and can add an invisible text layer; its accuracy depends on the scan.
  • PDF to Excel and Excel to PDF are not available; changing a page's paper size is not either.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is opened, edited and exported in your browser.

Can I change the original text like in a word processor?

Not natively. You can visually replace a line; the result may differ in font and look, and the original text stays inside the file.
