Limitations and notes

  • Compression is lossless: image quality and resolution are not reduced.
  • Many PDFs are already optimised; “could not be reduced” is a normal outcome.

Why does my PDF barely get smaller?

Usually most of the size is already-compressed images, and this tool does not re-encode them lossily.
