How to use: Backlink report analyzer
- In Google Search Console open “Links”, press “Export external links” and download the CSVs (linking sites, link text and top linked pages).
- Load the files here (you can add several) or paste a list of domains or URLs. Type your site so internal links are ignored.
- Review the summary, the sites with “to review” marks and the anchor texts; download the PDF report or the CSV and, only if you really need it, a disavow file draft.
What it accepts and what you get
- Input
- A Search Console CSV (comma, semicolon or tab separated) or a list of domains or URLs, up to about 50,000 rows.
- Output
- A summary of sites and links, the split of anchor texts, review notes per site, a downloadable CSV, a PDF audit report and an optional disavow draft.
- Where your data is processed
- Search Console files are read in your browser and are not uploaded to any server.
Limitations and notes
- Everything is calculated in your browser: the files are not uploaded to any server.
- Search Console shows a sample of your links, not the full list, and has no quality or authority data.
- The notes (“spam-type words”, “ending often used for spam”, “many hyphens”…) rely only on the site's name. They are hints to check by hand, not a verdict that a link is bad.
- Google says most sites never need to disavow links. Use the draft only with a manual action or clearly bought or spammy links.
- If the file is a “top linked pages” export, rows from your own site are ignored and shown separately.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see another website's backlinks?
Not with this tool: it analyses files you export from your own Search Console account. Data about other websites needs paid services.
What is anchor text?
The text you click on in a link. A natural profile mixes the brand name, web addresses and descriptions.
Should I disavow the marked sites?
Usually not. Check each one: the marks are only hints, and disavowing the wrong ones can hurt you.
When to use it
- After exporting your links from Search Console and wanting to understand them without a spreadsheet.
- To spot whether one site gives almost all of your links.
- To review anchor texts and see how many contain your brand.
Examples
- Linking sites
- Load “Top linking sites” and see which have the most links and which are marked for review.
- Anchor texts
- Load “Top linking text” with your domain to see the split between brand, address, generic and descriptive.
- Pasted list
- Paste ten domains, one per line, to sort them and mark the ones worth a look.
Common mistakes
- Disavowing sites only because they have a mark: they are hints, not proof.
- Thinking Search Console shows every link: it shows a sample.
- Loading only the top linked pages file and expecting sites: that file is about your own pages.
