How to use: Domain business fit analyzer
- Type the domain you are considering and describe your business, market, audience and objective. Optionally add your brand, keywords, current website and up to three competitor domains.
- Press “Analyze domain”. Your browser asks public sources (RDAP registry, DNS, Internet Archive) and our server checks the website over HTTPS. To just see what the result looks like, press “Try DEMO”.
- Review the score by category, the positives, the risks, the action plan and the evidence. Download the PDF report or start a new analysis.
What it accepts and what you get
- Input
- A domain (internationalised names supported), a description of your business, the market, the audience and the objective; optionally brand, products, keywords, current website and up to 3 competitors.
- Output
- An overall score (only with enough evidence) and scores for six categories, positives, risks, a prioritised action plan, a competitor table, sources with check dates and a PDF report.
- Where your data is processed
- Your browser asks rdap.org, Cloudflare/Google DNS and the Internet Archive about the domain name, and the TodoToolsOnline server checks the website; your data and results are not stored.
Limitations and notes
- The score follows fixed, reproducible rules: 25 points business fit, 15 memorability, 20 SEO, 15 technical, 15 reputation and 10 market.
- Whatever cannot be checked is shown as “no data” and counts neither as success nor as failure. If too much evidence is missing, no overall score is shown.
- Search volumes and trademark data are not invented: there is no reliable free source. The tool links to EUIPO TMview and WIPO so you can search yourself.
- It does not replace a lawyer or an official trademark search, and a domain with good keywords does not guarantee rankings on Google.
- Never enter registrar or hosting passwords: the tool does not need them. It uses no artificial intelligence or paid service.
Frequently asked questions
Does it tell me if the domain is free to register?
It only gives a hint: if RDAP does not find it and DNS does not exist either, it says “appears unregistered”. Confirm availability with your registrar.
Why is there sometimes no overall score?
Evidence is needed for at least 70% of the points. If public services do not answer, it shows “insufficient data” instead of guessing.
Can I rely on the trademark analysis?
Only as a signal. It compares the name with a small list of very well-known brands. It is not a trademark search or legal advice.
When to use it
- Before buying or registering a domain for a new business.
- To compare several name options with the same rules.
- To review a domain you already chose against your competitors.
