PDF summarizer
Summarise a PDF with selectable text by picking its most representative sentences. Extractive, not AI; the file never leaves your device.
How to use: PDF summarizer
- Choose a PDF with selectable text.
- Pick the summary length.
- Review the chosen sentences and copy or download them.
What it accepts and what you get
- Input
- A PDF of up to 25 MB and 500 pages, without a password, with text (not scanned).
- Output
- Between 3 and 8 sentences of the document in their original order, and its keywords.
- Where your data is processed
- Your data is processed in your browser and is not sent to our servers.
Limitations and notes
- It is an extractive summary, not AI: it copies sentences from the document without rewriting them.
- A scanned PDF is just an image with no text to summarise: run it through “OCR for PDF” first.
- Tables and columns are read as running text, so the order of some sentences may not be perfect.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The text is read in your browser with pdf.js and the summary is computed on your device.
