How to use: Online screen recorder

  1. Decide whether to also record the microphone.
  2. Press “Start recording” and choose in the browser which screen, window or tab to share.
  3. Press “Stop” (or the browser's stop sharing button), check the preview and download the video.

Where your data is processed
Your data is processed in your browser and is not sent to our servers.

Limitations and notes

  • It works in desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox; phones and Safari usually do not support it.
  • System sound is only recorded if you allow it in the browser dialog and the browser supports it.
  • Everything visible is recorded: close anything private first.
  • Nothing is uploaded to any server.

Frequently asked questions

Is my recording uploaded to a server?

No: it is recorded and kept in your browser, in WebM format, and only leaves it when you download it.

Why can't I record from my phone?

Because most mobile browsers, and Safari, do not allow screen recording from a web page. It works in desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox.

Is the computer's sound recorded?

Only if you allow it in the browser's sharing dialog and the browser supports it. The microphone is recorded if you tick the option before starting.
