Transcript summarizer
Summarise a meeting or lecture transcript (text, SRT or VTT), dropping timestamps and speaker names. Extractive, not AI; all done in your browser.
How to use: Transcript summarizer
- Paste the transcript or load a .txt, .srt or .vtt file.
- Decide whether to drop speaker names and pick the length.
- Press “Summarise” and copy the result.
What it accepts and what you get
- Input
- Text, SRT or VTT of up to 400,000 characters (for example a meeting or lecture transcript).
- Output
- Between 3 and 8 sentences of the conversation, without timestamps or caption numbers.
- Where your data is processed
- Your data is processed in your browser and is not sent to our servers.
Limitations and notes
- It is an extractive summary, not AI: it does not write minutes or assign tasks, it only picks sentences from the transcript.
- This tool does not transcribe audio: you need to have the text already.
- Transcripts without punctuation are cut into chunks of about 30 words.
